8th February, 2021 #day08

Today is the third day of mass rallies. Protesters in Yangon have grown so large that some estimate as many as 400,000 just only in Hledan junction. In a few places (Myawaddy and Naypyidaw), the security forces used force (rubber bullets and water cannon) to crackdown protesters.

It is also the day that many public servants went on strike by not reporting to work. They individually or collectively issued letters of boycott on social media.

Interestingly, pro-military supporters took to the streets and were seen at one or two places in Yangon. Pro-democracy protesters kept informing each other to avoid clashes with those mobs.

A lot of rumours are coming out - including snipers are positioned in the city area, pro-military supporters are among the crowds, electricity will be cut off at night, and protestors will be chased and beaten at night.

Update news: Sanchaung and Kamaryut townships of Yangon are placed under night curfew.
