Street protests are growing. People from all walks of life and public servants have been seen to join not only the CDM but also the street protests. A night curfew has been announced in Yangon and unannounced roadblocks on the streets connecting to the city in the morning causing problems for locals and working class.
What stands out is the innovative forms of protest that generation Z is leading. It is also gaining attention in the international media. Moreover, protesters are applying several creative tools such as Myanmar Protestors Toolkit and an application that show where the police are on the map. Another highlight of today was the open participation of some on duty police officers with protesters
Unfortunately, there were bloodshed in some of the protests. Police used force to crackdown the protests in many locations. In Naypyitaw, the capital city, the riot police used live ammunition and protesters were seriously injured and a 19-year-old girl was shot in the head and now fighting for her life at the ICU.
Rumors continue to circulate. These include donations for the CDM are being made by lying to local protesters, some police officers who cooperate with the people are liars, the current regime is too poor to pay its staffs, and President Win Myint has been arraigned in the court.
