The junta declared Chin State’s Mindat as martial law area after the negotiations broke down and the fighting resumed between the junta troops and Chinland Defence Force-Mindat. The Mindat People's Administrative Group has responded by saying that it has full control of Mindat and will rule in accordance with the Chin Hills Regulation (1896), which was used during the British colonial era. Locals wrote on social media that the military council was sending troops from other regions to reinforce the Battalion 274 in Mindat and firing heavy artillery and machine gun since yesterday. At least four members of CDF-Mindat were killed and at least eight others were injured in the shootings.
Zin Ko Tun, a 23-year-old student and a member of the Myingyan University Union, died of his injuries one day after being arrested in Taloke Myo village, Myingyan Township, where heavy fighting broke out with people’s defence force, his family members told Myanmar Now. Tattoo of the flag of the All Burma Federation of Students' Unions on his arm was also set on fire. In Pauk, Magway Division, locals have refused to hand over their hunting riles to the military council. Khit Thit Media reports that a student and two of his friends were beaten and arrested by the military council in connection with the Yangon’s Dagon University bombing. The University Students' Union said in a statement that a school staff falsely accused them of setting bomb.

An eyewitness told DVB that a woman was injured in an explosion at a government office in Yangon’s Htaukkyant Township yesterday afternoon. On May 13 alone, there were four explosions in Yangon. Netizens have claimed that employees were injured as they went to the office without doing CDM. The junta announced on May 14 that 579 primary school teachers in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, had been suspended for anti-government (CDM) activities.
In support of the KNU Chairman's May 10 letter, Pado Saw Shwe Maung, chairman of the Dooplaya district in the KNU's Brigade 6, urged the parties to resolve the political crisis through dialogue, not by military means on May 13. The call has been criticized by netizens including many Karen youths saying that the junta will continue to use violence against the people without showing any interest in dialogue and that he should support the Brigade 5 instead, which is currently fighting the junta troops on daily basis. The NLD government issued Notice to Proceed for the project that will generate a total of 1,390 megawatts of electricity in 2018. The Japanese government has provided US $ 4 million to the World Food Program (WFP) to provide food to about 600,000 people in Yangon, according to DVB. It is a part of WFP's largest plan to provide food to 2 million people in Myanmar's poorest townships. Food has been distributed in Hlaing Tharyar Township, Yangon since May 13. WFP has announced that it will deliver aids directly to the public.
