About 100 soldiers and police had joined the CDM in Chin State within a week following the NUG declaration of people’s defensive war, a CDF official told DVB. Those who joined the CDF included members of the military and police, as well as foresters. The CDF has previously announced that it will pay 5 million kyat to those who have fled the army with full weapons. According to the People's Embrace page, about 3,500 soldiers and police have been issued CDM code numbers.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi told her lawyers that no one had visited her since the coup, despite speculations that she and the leader of the coup, the junta’s representatives, and some diplomats were meeting at her resident, the Burma Associated Press reported. Khit Thit reports that since the afternoon of 14 September, the junta has cut off internet connection in six townships in Sagaing Region and two townships in Mandalay Region, where fighting intensifying between the junta troops and the local PDFs. In some townships, both mobile internet and telephone lines were cut off. The Naypyidaw PDF announced that they killed a police officer at a checkpoint in Lewe Township, Naypyidaw, on 14 September.
A five-year-old kid was killed, and two others were injured in an explosion near the USDP office in Magway on 14 September, the BBC reported. The Magway-based PDF claimed that they did not carry out the attack. On 14 September, the Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF) reported that coalition forces in Karenni State fought for five hours to seize a army outpost in Hpruso Township, Kayah State. The statement said the junta retaliated with heavy artillery fire, killing two of KNDF members during the attack.
More than 1,171 clashes, explosions, and assassinations took place in the three months, killing about 1,710 junta troops and injuring 630, according to the NUG. During the three-month period, 431 civilians were also killed and 184 wounded by the junta. More than 100 Myanmar refugees have crossed the border into Mizoram, India, in recent days, bring the total number to 9,500, RFA reported. According to the Indian Express, 26 Myanmar nationals with fake identifications have recently been arrested in the Assam.
The decision to sell its operations in Myanmar was prompted by pressure from the junta to install intercept surveillance technology and the risk of EU sanctions, the head of Norwegian Telenor Asia told Reuters. Foreign policy reports that the United States and China reportedly agreed not to allow the junta’s representative to address the UN General Assembly. The credential committee has also postponed the selection of a Myanmar representative and has decided to keep U Kyaw Moe Tun in his current position until November.
